One session per week

This is an hour in length and is useful if your child does a bit of practice anyway between lessons. This can be used to make sure that everything has been understood before the next lesson.

2 sessions per week

This is the most frequently chosen option and most efficient in terms of time. Sessions are again an hour in length. this is for pupils that do very little or no practice between sessions. This is enough time to complete everything that has been asked by the teacher, plus some additional learning of notes or theory, depending on what is useful.

3 session per week

This option is primarily for exams or auditions. Most people choose this option for 4 or 5 weeks of an intense burst of practice before exams or a scholarship audition to senior school or sixth form. However, this number of sessions can also be used on a regular basis and will have much faster effects than the other two options.

Theory and Aural sessions!!

Comes as a group session with up to 3 people per group …. it’s cheaper! (YAY!)

Aural and Theory are two VERY important aspects of music that most instrumental teachers do not have time to teach regularly enough to get good at them.

They are ALWAYS a last minute thought before an exam.

In these sessions we will teach regular aural and basic theory so that you can really be on top of them when it comes down to an exam or playing in an ensemble.

Having a good rudimentary understanding of music theory, and good musical ears are essential for a good musician and will make EVERYTHING easier!

 Instrumental teaching

Instrumental teachers are such an important part of the process. Therefore, we do provide actual instrumental teachers who are specialists on their chosen instrument or chosen genre (if you would like to explore a different genre alongside grades!).

If your kids already have a teacher, then don’t worry. You can get a supervisor on their own! Visa versa, if you are looking for a teacher and don’t want to have a practice supervisor just yet (because your kids already do loads of practice!) then we can provide a teacher without the supervisor also!

 Video Session

We are now offering video sessions over zoom!

1, If you live outside of London and are thinking ‘oh no, Jacktice tutors don’t come this far’ then don’t worry! Just let me know and we can use video calling to the same effect as face to face….

2, If you are still socially distanced and the school of your child has advised against outside tutors, then this method will also solve that problem. We are always happy to work around any difficulty that has arisen due to Covid19.

3, If you don’t want a full hour long session that the face to face sessions require. A shorter session over zoom may be the way forward.
